What is Word Search?
Remember those puzzle books from your childhood? Word Search is that same game where you hunt for hidden words in a jumble of letters. You can pick it up in five seconds but somehow stay glued to the screen way longer than you planned. Good for killing time or giving your brain a light workout.
How to Play
Dead simple: you have a grid full of letters and a list of words to find. Click on the first letter, drag to the last, done. They can hide anywhere: horizontal, vertical, diagonal, even backwards. Watch out for the sneaky ones.
Your Mission
Find every word on the list. Cross them all off and you win.
Quick Start
- Check the ListGlance at the words first. Your brain will start spotting them without you even trying.
- Scan SmartLook for the first letter of each word. Once you spot it, check all directions around it.
- Follow the TrailFound the first letter? Great! Now see if the rest follows in a straight line.
- Mark ItClick and drag from the first letter to the last. Found words light up green.
- Keep GoingDon't stop until you've crossed off every word. You've got this!
Where Words Hide
Directions to Check
Left ↔ Right
Classic horizontal reading. Check both ways!
Up ↕ Down
Going up or sliding down the grid.
Corner to Corner
Sneaky diagonals in all four directions. These are the tricky ones that'll catch you off guard.
Backwards Too!
Words spelled backwards are fair game. If you can't find a word, try reading it in reverse.
Shared Letters
The same letter can be part of multiple words. Two birds, one stone!
Difficulty Levels
Pick the level that suits you. As it goes up, the grid grows, there are more words and they hide in more directions.
Easy
10×10 grid with 6 words, only left to right and top to bottom, just like reading. Great for kids and for warming up.
Medium
12×12 grid with 8 words. Diagonals join in, and words may share letters.
Hard
14×14 grid with 12 words in all 8 directions, backwards included. Watch out for traps: unfinished pieces of words hide in the grid.
Pro Tips
Hunt the Rare Letters
Got a word with Q, X, Z, or J? Find that letter first - there won't be many of them in the grid.
Use Your Finger
Trace along each row with your finger or cursor. You'll be surprised what you missed before.
Be Methodical
Random searching is frustrating. Go row by row, then column by column. You'll find more, faster.

You see the same words over and over. Spelling and vocabulary improve naturally.
